6 Ways to Pamper Your Skin After Halloween
September 30, 2021If you’re a Halloween enthusiast, you likely already have your costume(s) planned from head to toe. But have you prepared your post-Halloween skincare routine as well? If not, we can help. Here are six ways to show your skin some extra care after wearing Halloween makeup, from double cleansing to overnight masking.
1. Use a Micellar Water
Start your double-cleansing routine with a micellar water specifically designed to break down waterproof makeup. We like the Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water All-in-1 Cleanser & Waterproof Makeup Remover, which features dirt-encapsulating micelles to capture makeup and grime without any harsh rubbing at your skin or eyes.
2. Follow With a Cleanser
To make sure all your makeup is wiped away, follow the micellar water with a richly foaming cleanser. The CeraVe Hydrating Cream-to-Foam Cleanser eliminates leftover dirt and makeup without stripping the skin thanks to a blend of ceramides and hyaluronic acid.
3. Moisturize With a Rich Night Cream
Wake up with radiant, refreshed skin when you apply a night cream that doubles as a nourishing overnight mask. We recommend the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Night Spa, which contains hyaluronic acid to attract moisture to the skin and soothing volcanic water.
4. Show Your Eyes Some Love
Chances are your Halloween look included some form of a statement eye. Whether you rocked a super thick wing or went all out with zombie makeup, there’s no doubt the delicate skin surrounding your eyes could use some extra attention. To help de-puff and restore this sensitive area of the skin, try the L'Oréal Revitalift Derm Intensives 2.5% Hyaluronic Acid + Caffeine Eye Serum.
5. Top With a Facial Oil
A facial oil is a great way to lock in moisture, especially if you have dry skin. Look for a lightweight formula with botanical oils, such as the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate Face Oil. It contains calming lavender oil and squalane to help soften skin.
5. Hydrate Your Lips
Swiping on multiple coats of lipstick, especially if it’s a matte formula, calls for some major moisture. We love the Mented Cosmetics Balms Away Coconut Lip Treatment, a cruelty-free, hydrating formula packed with shea butter and castor seed oil.
