This DIY Under-Eye Sheet Mask Hack Is Genius

Tired, puffy eyes need a dose of hydration — and what better way to pamper the sensitive area than with a sheet mask? Sheet masks are typically infused with serum or essence and go over your entire face, but you can DIY your own mini eye patches with targeted eye creams and serums. Keep reading for an easy way to make your own DIY eye sheet masks. Plus see which serums we recommend using.

STEP 1: Select Your Serum

Look for a serum that targets your specific under-eye concerns, whether that’s darkness, wrinkles or puffiness. These are two of our go-tos.

Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Dark Circle Reducing Vitamin C Eye Serum

If you’re stressing over dark circles, look to this brightening eye serum. It contains 10% vitamin C to target both blue and brown dark circles, hyaluronic acid to hydrate and tri-peptides to smooth puffiness. It’s also dermatologist- and ophthalmologist-tested and safe for contact lens-wearers.

Vichy LiftActiv Serum 10 Eyes & Lashes

This allergy- and dermatologist-tested serum targets both the under-eye area and the lashes. It features rhamnose, a naturally derived plant sugar that can reduce the look of wrinkles, as well as Vichy’s signature thermal water to protect skin from environmental pollution. Hyaluronic acid attracts moisture to help make the under-eye area appear hydrated and supple.

STEP 2: Create Your Eye Masks

Now it’s time for the fun part: making the masks themselves!

  • Take a cotton round and cut it in half.

  • Place enough of your eye serum on each half so that it’s saturated but not soaked through.

  • Apply the halves under each eye and allow them to sit for 10 minutes.

  • Tap in the excess serum with your fingertip.

If you’d prefer not to use cotton rounds, you can also try the Forever Eye Mask from Dieux, a set of reusable eye patches that can last for up to a year without the Instagrammable logo fading away.
